New Programs Available Online

It’s Sunday, which means GCTV has uploaded new On Demand content to our YouTube channel! Look for July and most of the August town meetings, Bethel, a new show about CT lobstering, plus two new videos from GCTV talking about our Videographer’s Forum and internship program.

As always, please share videos and playlists with anyone who might be interested in the content presented.  GCTV is media you create & share!

Broadcast Schedule & Technical Update

A new program schedule starts tonight at midnight and changes again on Sunday.  Catch up on August town meetings, health & wellness, the arts and more.

The PZC 8/19 meeting was a long meeting, and there for is taking longer to prepare for broadcast.  We anticipate it being available for the Wednesday broadcast cycle.

The technical issues we have been experiencing with our broadcast channels appear to be stable at this time.  Channel 20 may experience some interruption in bulletin board display.  We are in the process of ordering a replacement component to address that problem.

Should you have any questions regarding our broadcast schedule or notice anything not broadcasting properly please email us at

Stay tuned to our website and channels for news on upcoming fall events with GCTV including participation in the Citizen’s Day Parade, new classes, programs and intern news!

GCTV Broadcast

GCTV has been made aware that channel 20 is playing back in black and white.  We have contacted Tightrope to resolve the issue.

In the course of troubleshooting we were also informed that some of the issues we are experiencing may be caused by power fluctuations at the head end. We are looking into replacing our power supply unit in the hopes that this will prevent future issues.

If any further playback issues are observed we would greatly appreciate hearing from you.  Date, channel, program affected and time are all good details to have.  It cannot be ruled out that there are other underlying technical issues beyond the power supply issue so feedback from our viewing public is important in pinpointing what is going on.

GCTV is working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible, especially on the heals of a busy fall season!  If you have any questions, concerns or information please email us at

Thank you for your patience and continued support.

GCTV Broadcast Update

Progress is being made with our Broadcast technology.  We are now able to broadcast programs again on all three channels and will resume regular scheduling of programming on the Wednesday cycle.

We continue to experience playback issues with the bulletin board for channel 18 and 19.

Specifically, we are aware that channel 19 has a wrapper with external content not created by GCTV or Guilford Public Schools.  We believe this is a demo mode to one of the system’s components, ChyTV.  Tightrope is looking into how to return bulletin board and program content to full screen broadcast.

Channel 18, when broadcasting bulletin board content, does so in greyscale.  Tightrope is exploring the cause of this issue and a solution.  Programming is not currently effected as that is broadcast in full color.

We will keep you posted as updates are made and hope to have all this resolved by the end of the week.  While it has taken some time to iron out these issues, Tightrope has been incredibly responsive in their support to GCTV in this matter.

Thank you for your patience and continued support.  Feel free to email us with any questions you may have.

Technical Issues with GCTV Broadcast

GCTV has been in contact with Tightrope media regarding technical issues which are affecting both bulletin board and program playback on all three channels in some capacity.

Specifically, we are aware that channel 18 is currently not operational.  While channel 19 seems to be functioning correctly we are aware that it’s bulletin board does not always display properly.  We are also aware of bulletin board display issues with channel 20.

Tightrope indicates they are aware of an issue with a component of our setup that has also affected other stations.  They are looking into that as well looking directly at our computers to resolve the issue.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us at
